Overview

As of July 14, 2025, the Georgetown Animal Shelter officially merged with the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter (WCRAS). This partnership enhances the range of services available to Georgetown residents.

Dog adoptions and fostering will continue to be available at the former Georgetown Animal Shelter, known now as the WCRAS Red Poppy Adoptique.  All cat adoptions and services are now offered through the WCRAS main facility in Georgetown's neighboring areas.

Expanded Services for Georgetown Residents

Thanks to this merger, Georgetown residents now have access to a wider range of animal welfare programs through WCRAS, including:

  • Weekly trap-neuter-vaccinate-return (TNVR) clinics for community cats
  • Low-cost spay and neuter clinics
  • Quarterly vaccine clinics
  • Microchipping
  • Pet registration
  • Pet ID tag services
