Georgetown Animal Shelter Merges with Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter

Overview:

As of July 14, 2025, the Georgetown Animal Shelter officially merged with the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter (WCRAS). This partnership expands the animal care and support services available to Georgetown residents.

Dog adoptions and foster services will continue at the former Georgetown Animal Shelter location, now operating as the WCRAS Red Poppy Adoptique.

Cat adoptions and related cat services are now available at the main WCRAS facility serving the Georgetown area.

Expanded Services for Georgetown Residents

Through this partnership, Georgetown residents now have access to additional animal welfare programs and services through WCRAS, including:

  • Weekly Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) Clinics for Community Cats
  • Low-Cost Spay and Neuter Clinics
  • Quarterly Vaccine Clinics
  • Microchipping
  • Pet Registration
  • Pet ID Tag Services
