Feral Hog Management in Georgetown

Overview

Feral hogs can damage property and disrupt neighborhoods. The Georgetown Police Department (GPD) partners with landowners and state agencies to help reduce hog activity and manage the local population.

GPD works with property owners to place traps strategically and shares hog sighting reports with Texas Parks & Wildlife (TPWD) and other regional partners.

Report Hog Activity

  • Call the GPD non-emergency line at 512-930-3510 if hogs are causing damage.

If You Trap a Hog

  • Transport it to an approved holding facility or authorized hunting preserve.

  • Carcasses must go to a recognized slaughter facility.

  • The city collection station cannot accept carcasses. Public Works will only remove them from the public right-of-way.
