Do I need a license for my pet or animals?
License Requirements
City ordinance requires all dogs and cats, four months of age or older, that are kept or harbored for 30 days or longer within the city limits to be licensed annually with Animal Services.
You can get a ticket and be fined for failing to license your dogs and cats. Licensing is the only practical way Animal Services can enforce state rabies vaccination requirements.
How to get your pet's license
Use this form to get a pet license.
Use this form if you have a service animal or you are a senior citizen (65+) with a spayed/neutered pet (1 per senior citizen).
You may also obtain pet licenses in person at the Georgetown Animal Shelter, located at 110 WL Walden Dr, Georgetown, Tx 78626.
If you are not sure if you live in the city limits or not, check our City of Georgetown Address Map.
If you live outside of the city limits, you do not require a City of Georgetown license for your pet. However, you may be required to register your pet in your local jurisdiction.
