Overview

A protective order is a civil court document designed to help keep victims of family violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking safe from their abuser.

How to Obtain a Protective Order

Protective orders are issued by the county. If you are in immediate danger or if an existing protective order has been violated, call 911 right away.

For non-emergencies or to begin the process of seeking a protective order, contact your local law enforcement agency:

  • Georgetown Police Department – 512-930-3510

  • Williamson County Sheriff’s Office – 512-864-8282
