Get Your Library Card: Application Steps and Fees

Overview:
Getting a Georgetown Public Library card is simple and opens the door to books, media, digital resources, and more. Whether you're a resident, nonresident, or a student, there's a card option for you.

How to Apply:

  • Present a photo ID and proof of current address to apply. (e.g., utility bill, car insurance, etc)

  • Resident cards are free for Georgetown residents or city property taxpayers.

  • Nonresident cards cost $35 per household annually; seniors (65+) pay $30.

  • A 3-month non-renewable introductory card is available for nonresidents at $10.

  • Library cards for children can be issued with a parent/guardian who holds a card.

  • Nonresident GISD students and staff qualify for free library cards upon request.

Proof of residency can be a piece of mail, car insurance, utility bill, check stub, etc. It must include your name and current address.
