Georgetown Park Ranger Program

Overview

The Georgetown Police Department oversees the Park Ranger Program; a volunteer initiative designed to support safety and enhance visitor experiences in our city parks. Volunteers are trained in local ordinances, communication, and interpersonal skills to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment.

Role of Park Rangers

  • Patrol parks using a Kubota side-by-side vehicle.

  • Monitor for criminal activity and report incidents to police.

  • Provide courtesy assistance, such as offering rides to visitors who are unable to complete a walk or are overheated.

  • Serve as ambassadors for park safety and community engagement.
