How to Dispose of Yard Trimmings

Overview

Texas Disposal Systems (TDS) provides yard trimming collection and free mulch opportunities for Georgetown residents.

City Residents

  • Yard trimmings collected curbside on the 1st recycling day of each month
  • Use bundles, personal containers (marked “Yard Trimmings” with address), or compostable paper bags
  • Bundles: max 4 feet long, 35 pounds, tied with string/twine
  • Limit 20 items total (any mix of bags, containers, or bundles)
  • Extra bags require a Bag Tag (available at Georgetown Municipal Complex, 300-1 Industrial Ave)

Residents Outside City Limits

  • Contact TDS at 512-930-1715 to set up curbside collection service

All TDS Customers

  • Free drop-off: 3 cubic yards per month at the Transfer Station (250 WL Walden Dr.) with proof of address/account
  • Free mulch: 1 cubic yard per month available at the Transfer Station
  • Transfer Station hours: Mon–Fri 8 a.m.–5 p.m. | Sat 8 a.m.–3 p.m.
  • TDS staff can help load mulch into trucks/trailers
