1. I am moving here and need to start new utility service.
2. I am an existing customer, and I need to close my account.
3. I am an existing customer, and I need to start an additional account.

Please note:

1. I am moving here and need to start new utility service.

Welcome to Georgetown Utilities!  Let’s get you started with a new utility account.

On your computer browser, navigate to Utilities Customer Self Service Menu

You can also get to this location on our website under Residents > Start New Service.

Click the left button:

This will take you to the application that you will fill out.

Be sure to double-check the address you are requesting service at! You will be billed for the location you choose, so please verify.

Once your application is submitted, there is a confirmation screen that we received your application, and it will contain a move number. Please take note of the ID for your reference.

After your “Move” application is processed, you will then receive a Welcome Email that will contain your new utility account number.

On your start date, a field technician will visit the site and turn on the service(s) sometime between 8:00am and 5:00pm.

2. I am an existing customer, and I need to close my account.

To close a utility account, you will need to log into your online portal.
If you have never set up an online portal, you will need to create one to do this “Move Out” process.

On your computer browser, navigate to Utilities Customer Self Service Menu
Choose the button on the right.

Next, select the 2nd button from the left.

Sign into you portal or click "Sign Up Now" if you do not already have access to your portal.

You will need your email open to receive a verification code if this is the first time to sign up for the online portal. That code is only good for a few minutes so be ready.

3. I am an existing customer, and I need to start an additional account.

Log into your online portal and please follow these steps.

Scroll down to the Quick Links box
Click on Request move

If you are not moving out, or you are not moving out yet, please toggle off the "Move out existing account" button. You can have more than one account open at a time.

Toggle on the Move in at new location button

• Enter the address you are moving to - For new construction homes, the address will not appear in the drop down until your builder has completed all of their permitting requirements. Please contact your builder to establish when they will have completed all requirements.

• Select your Move in date - The City of Georgetown requires (2) business days’ notice and can only schedule 30 days into the future.
