Community Collection Events

The City of Georgetown hosts two collection events each year — typically in April and September — to provide residents with a convenient way to dispose of bulky or hard-to-recycle items. Events are held at the Georgetown Municipal Complex and include services such as paper shredding, electronics recycling, mattress and furniture disposal, and more.

Accepted items include:

  • Mattress & Box Springs,
  • Furniture(Good, Stable condition only) ,
  • Electronics (All data will be destroyed before recycling components),
  • Tires (Limit 4 per vehicle),
  • Scrap metal
  • Household Appliances (metal only),
  • Metal Lawn Equipment (all fluids removed),
  • Crayons (for donation/recycling), and
  • Paper Shredding (3 Boxes/Bags per Person)
Hazardous materials, medical waste, batteries, light bulbs, and construction debris are not accepted.

Each event supports a local nonprofit through voluntary donations.
