When are the Community Collection Events?
Community Collection Events
The City of Georgetown hosts two collection events each year — typically in April and September — to provide residents with a convenient way to dispose of bulky or hard-to-recycle items. Events are held at the Georgetown Municipal Complex and include services such as paper shredding, electronics recycling, mattress and furniture disposal, and more.
Accepted items and limits vary by event, but commonly include:
- Furniture in good condition
- Electronics (with data destruction)
- Tires (limit per vehicle)
- Scrap metal and appliances (metal only)
- Lawn equipment (fluids removed)
- Crayons (for donation/recycling)
Hazardous materials, medical waste, batteries, light bulbs, and construction debris are not accepted.
Each event supports a local nonprofit through voluntary donations.
For dates, accepted items, and donation information, visit the city’s Community Collection Events page or email recycle@georgetowntexas.gov.
