Where can I find information about construction plans around the city?

Construction & Planning Inquiries

Overview

The City of Georgetown provides resources to help residents and businesses stay informed about construction projects, land development, and long-term planning efforts.

Construction and development in Georgetown are carefully managed to support growth while preserving the city’s character. Two primary departments oversee these efforts:

  • Systems Engineering – Manages construction projects related to the Capital Improvements Plan (CIP), as well as commercial and multi-family private developments.

  • Planning Department – Oversees the day-to-day land development process, including zoning, subdivision, and site development applications. The department also leads long-range planning, historic preservation, neighborhood engagement, and housing programs.

For detailed project information, residents can use the Planning Projects: Public Notice Map, which provides project names, descriptions, and public meeting dates.

In addition, the city publishes updates on the ClearGov CIP site, offering details such as project locations, costs, timelines, and current status.
