School crossings must ensure a safe and accessible route to school.

GISD provides all crossing guards.

However, in the absence of a marked crossing, a safety study following Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (TMUTCD) guidelines, coupled with a safety evaluation, is required before a school crossing is marked and a crossing guard is provided by GISD.
