How do I report unsafe or reckless driving?

Reporting Unsafe or Reckless Driving

Overview

Residents are encouraged to report unsafe driving behaviors to help maintain roadway safety in Georgetown. This includes speeding, reckless driving, and failure to obey traffic signs or signals.

If you observe someone speeding, driving recklessly, or ignoring traffic signals, stop signs, or posted speed limits, the city provides several options for reporting these concerns.

How to Report

  • If the unsafe driving is happening now, call 911 immediately.

  • For general or ongoing violations, contact the Georgetown Police Department at 512-930-3510 or email pd@georgetowntexas.gov.

When appropriate, the Georgetown Police Department may set up a speed trailer to monitor driver speeds. If the data indicates a broader issue, the Police Department will coordinate with the City’s Transportation Planning Team to determine whether further evaluation or changes are needed.
