How do I report a streetlight outage?

Check for Streetlight Outage

Report using our Streetlight Outage Map and confirm if an outage has already been reported.

If the outage has been reported, the City is aware of the problem and a service order has been issued to fix the light.

Steps to Report a Streetlight Outage

1. Search for the Streetlight - Use the Streetlight Number (found on the pole) or the Street Address on the map to locate the light in question.

2. Fill Out the Outage Form - Provide the required details about the issue with the light on the Outage Form.

3. Submit Your Report - Once you submit the form, it may take up to 5 minutes for the outage to show on the map and for the light’s status to update (change color).

When will repair take place?

Once the outage has been reported, a work order will be created and City staff will address the issue.

The streetlight status will update on the map once the repair is complete.

Who is responsible for repairing the streetlight?

  • City of Georgetown Electric Service Area - If the outage is within the red boundary on the map, the City will handle the repair.
  • Outside the Service Area, but Still in City Limits - If the outage is related to equipment failure, the City utility will assess and repair. For power-related issues, the City will contact the appropriate electric provider to restore power.
