Understanding Water Use Regulations and Restriction Stages
Overview
To protect our limited water supply, the City of Georgetown enforces water use regulations that vary based on drought conditions. Currently, we are in DCP Stage 1 (Drought Contingency Plan – Stage 1 Water Restrictions).
A two-day-per-week irrigation schedule is in place to ensure there’s enough water for essential needs like home use and fire protection. You may view the Stage Restrictions and Penalty Structure here.
Violation and Fee Structures

Residential and nonresidential customers are subject to different violation and fee structures.

Fees are based on the drought stage in effect at the time of the violation.
Irrigation Schedule

A two-day-per-week irrigation schedule is allowed.
