Commercial Backflow Prevention Device Testing Requirements

Overview

Backflow device testing must be submitted as part of the building final inspection, or as part of an Annual or Semi-Annual testing process to ensure water system safety.

Georgetown Utility Systems, through its vendor VEPO, LLC, notifies commercial businesses 30–60 days before their backflow testing is due.

How to Complete the Testing:

  • Hire a registered backflow tester. View a list of approved testers here.

The Tester must then:

  • Perform the required backflow test.
  • Submit the test results through the VEPO online portal.
  • Pay a fee of $11.50 per test report through the VEPO website.
