Net Energy Metering Rate Program for Residential and Small Commercial Customers
Overview
The Net Energy Metering (NEM) rate program allows eligible customers to receive credit for excess electricity generated by their Distributed Energy Resources (DER) systems.
Key Program Highlights
Eligibility:
- Available to residential and small commercial customers
- DER system must be less than 10 kW-DC
- Requires an approved interconnection agreement
How It Works:
- Customers use electricity generated by their DER system to offset their own consumption.
- Any excess energy (produced beyond what is consumed) is sold back to the utility.
- Excess energy is credited at the rate identified in the NEM program.
