Solid Waste Collection Noise

Overview

Per the City’s solid waste contract with Texas Disposal Systems (TDS), commercial dumpster collection is allowed between 12:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Collections often occur in the early morning for several reasons:

• Safety: Fewer vehicles and pedestrians make it safer for crews and residents.

• Efficiency: Reduced traffic allows trucks to complete routes faster and more cost-effectively.

• Environmental benefits: Less idling in traffic lowers fuel use and emissions.

• Business access: Early pickup avoids blocking driveways and disrupting daytime business operations.

• Odor control: Removing trash before the heat of the day helps limit odors.
