Does the city offer low income assistance?

Utility Assistance and Community Resources

Overview

Many customers experience financial hardship from time to time, and assistance may be available if you are having difficulty paying your utility bill. The City proudly sponsors the Good Neighbor Fund, administered by The Caring Place, to help eligible Georgetown utility customers facing temporary financial challenges.  If you wish to make a charitable contribution you can set up participation through your online Customer Self-Service (CSS) Portal account, under Payment Programs.

In addition to the Good Neighbor Fund, several local and regional organizations offer programs that may provide utility assistance, emergency financial support, weatherization services, and other helpful resources.
