Road Closures, Access, and City Updates

To prepare for the festival, the City of Georgetown will implement several temporary changes:

  • Street Closures: Some streets and lanes surrounding San Gabriel Park will be completely closed during the festival.

  • Staging Timeline: Festival setup, including safety fencing, begins Tuesday, April 7, and continues through Friday, April 24.

  • Navigation Apps: All closures will be reflected in apps like Google Maps and Waze to help residents and visitors plan routes in real time.

Facility Closures and Restrictions

Several nearby facilities will also be impacted:

  • Georgetown Recreation Center - Closed from 5 p.m. Friday, April 17, through 5:30 a.m. Monday, April 20. Event parking will not be available there.

  • Red Poppy Adoptique - Closed Saturday and Sunday due to street closures.
  • McMaster Athletic Complex - Closed Saturday and Sunday due to street closures.
  • Georgetown Transfer Station - Closed Saturday and Sunday due to street closures.

Pedestrian Access

Due to construction on the Austin Avenue bridges south of the park:

  • Pedestrians will not be able to use Austin Avenue to walk from downtown to the festival.

  • Instead, attendees should use College Street for access.

  • Designated crossing areas will be marked, and an interactive map is available through the City to help guide safe pedestrian routes.

Staying informed ahead of time will help ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience at Two Step Inn whether you're attending the festival or navigating around Georgetown during the event.
