Safely and responsibly dispose of your expired or unused medications at convenient drop-off locations in Georgetown. Proper disposal helps protect your family, community, and environment.

The City of Georgetown, through a special grant, proudly operates the first Police Department in Williamson County to accept controlled medications via secure kiosk collection. This program provides residents with a safe and convenient way to dispose of unwanted medications year-round.

Drop-Off Location & Hours

  • Public Safety Operations and Training Center
    3500 DB Wood Rd, Georgetown, TX
    Open Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Closed on City Holidays)

  • Williamson County Sheriff’s Department
    508 S. Rock St., Georgetown, TX

Accepted Items

  • Controlled substances: pain medications, sedatives, muscle relaxers, anti-anxiety medications

  • Prescription medications: blood pressure, diabetic (pills only), cholesterol medications

  • Over-the-counter medications: allergy relief, topical creams, cough syrup, herbal supplements

  • Pet medications: heartworm preventatives, pain relief, diabetic medications

Not Accepted

  • Needles or syringes – Place inside a sealed plastic container and dispose of in your household trash cart.

  • IV fluid bags – Dispose of in your household trash cart.

  • Illegal drugs – Not accepted.
